North Carolina poet, Susan Haywood, launches “A Conversation With The Poet”,
a poetry reading event based on the readings of her poetry and discussion about her work and is available for gallery showings, cultural events, poetry readings and fundraising activities.
Ms. Haywood’s work is a powerful and compelling mix of framed art and poetry. She is one of very few poets that use visual stimulation to enhance the impact of her words. Her work is a piece of original art. Her work is a piece of original poetry. The two together make for a lively and interesting discussion.
It is poetry about connection and inspiration. Connection to a place, to feelings inspired by life’s experiences and written in a way that only the adjective “passionate” can explain.
Anyone who has received a card or writing that touches them personally will understand Ms. Haywood’s statement that “poetry is a gift from the soul”. Because poetry can have such a positive impact on your daily life, she wants to bring poetry back into the American mainstream. She writes under the pen name “Passionate Poet” and her writings are available on the internet and in limited outlets. By displaying her poetry on high quality merchandise, she makes it easy for her poetry/art to be shared with family and friends.
Passionate Poet writings are separated into 4 different collections. The North Carolina collection includes works specific to the area she calls home. Ms. Haywood says she may be part of the last generation that feels such a reverence and connection to one place – the history of which has been passed down through the generations - you couldn’t think of calling anywhere else home.
Her other collections include The American Collection (writings of inspiration and nature) and Connection Collection (writings about relationships of all kinds) and Power Punch Collection (more edgy work and social commentary).
The Collector Series contains works from each of the collections, selected by the poet, which are signed, numbered and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
